Today we rented scooters to go to the nearby beach Mae Nam. Michael was very much against taking the scooter - as he is very concerned about safety at the moment. But after some persuasion we eventually got going...
When we arrived at Mae Nam it was time for lunch. Hiroko and Philip got noodle soup and Micheal and I got american breakfast (I love the stuff). As we were eating, this guy came flying by on the sea:
He did an incredible show, including diving down into the water and rising up in the air again. It looked like something from a science fiction or super hero movie (reminded me of Dr. Octopus from Spiderman).
After lunch we found a spot on the beach in the shade under some cocconut palms. While swimming, Philip found an octopus in a bottle in the sea:
With some persuasion, we got him out of the bottle.
...and we could pet him. Incredibly soft creature.
The beach was very pretty and peaceful, loads of space. The almost empty beach was perfect for playing with the bouncy beach ball that Thomas' family brought us back from Florida. We spent a lot of time with that.
We went out for dinner in "Fisherman´s Village" which was very lively in the night. On the way we met a group of young men who made advertisement for Thai Boxing. We got this flyer:
Notice the fitting name "Superbank" (!) for a thai boxer.
We went to a fish restaurant with a nice display.
Seated on the beach right next to the water. Philip sipping his cocconut.
Fire show on the water.
